EGG DONATION GUIDE
Whom can egg donation help?
- The onset of natural menopause (usually after 45 years)
- Ovarian stimulation is prohibited due to medical reasons, and natural cycle IVF does not yield results
- There is a developmental block in the patient’s embryos.
It means that, despite the fact of successful egg fertilization, the patient’s embryos do not reach the blastocyst stage.
The embryos may also show consistent aneuploidy or suffer from low vitality, which indicates reduced quality of the patient's own eggs. - The patient is a carrier of a genetic disease. Genetic counselling is required to confirm the treatment.
- There is a history of recurrent miscarriage, which indicates that the patient is likely to need donor egg treatment.

EXPLAINED:
Egg donation is fully legal in Russia, and the field is under the supervision of the Ministry of Health.
Non-anonymous donation is also allowed, meaning that upon reaching adulthood, the child will be able to request their donor's personal information.
WHO BECOMES AN EGG DONOR
AND WHY?
Egg donors are young and fertile women who are willing to help other couples. They often choose to work with our clinic because of its reputation and reliability. In order to be an egg donor, a woman must be completely physically and mentally healthy, no older than 32 years old, and have healthy children of her own. Patients can review child and adult photos of our donors and select their preferred donors based on a wide variety of parameters.
All donors undergo a thorough medical examination, including a psychiatric appointment and an in-person interview. We grant access to a wide range of information about each donor, including detailed biometrics, education and occupation, as well as information about the donor's close relatives. Our database also includes additional materials, such as donors’ voice recordings and handwriting samples, which will help you understand your donor’s true personality even better. Egg donors are compensated financially for their participation in the program.
ANONYMOUS AND NON-ANONYMOUS
EGG DONATION EXPLAINED
Egg donation is typically anonymous, with strict controls in place to protect the privacy of both the donor and the recipient. Specifically, the egg donor never learns the recipient's personal information and is not informed of the outcome of any in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures that use her eggs. Additionally, egg donors have no legal rights to any resulting children.
The confidentiality of the parties (the egg donor and the recipient) is subject to The Medical Privacy Law. Similarly, recipients of donated eggs are not permitted to obtain their donor's personal information. However, in case of non-anonymous donation, the child becomes eligible to request the information about their donor upon reaching adulthood. This information includes the donor’s personal and contact information, allowing the child to get in touch with the person who helped them get born into this world.
At NGC, it is possible to arrange for non-anonymous egg donation, with the consent of the donor. This type of program provides a real chance of leaving a bridge between the donor and your future baby, and many of NGC’s donors will be proud to agree to that. It is recommended that this arrangement is discussed and confirmed in advance.
CAN AN EGG DONOR
BE A POOR MATCH FOR YOU?
The success rate of IVF using donor eggs is similar to that of IVF using eggs from a young, healthy woman (approximately 50% for each transfer attempt).
If you are unable to use your own eggs, or if your eggs are consistently of poor quality, egg donation can offer a real chance for a successful pregnancy.
BLOOD TYPE AND RH-FACTOR IMPORTANCE:
MEDICAL ASPECTS
This information may be helpful for those who are starting fertility treatment:
- Rh-negative patients are advised to choose an Rh-negative egg donor in order to rule out Rh incompatibility during pregnancy.
- Rh-positive patients can choose any egg donor.
- The donor’s blood type does not necessarily have to match the patient’s one, as it does not affect the health of the future baby in any way. However, it may be relevant to medical confidentiality.
- If you do not wish to disclose the use of an egg donor to your child, consult with your coordinator to find out which blood types are compatible with your family. By choosing your egg donor accordingly, you will fully exclude a potential mismatch in the baby’s blood type.
A pregnancy resulting from donor egg IVF is not different from a pregnancy achieved through own egg IVF. This means that medication support in the first trimester and pregnancy monitoring are the same as for a typical IVF protocol.
HOW DO I MAKE
A FINAL DECISION?
IVF with donor eggs may require a mental adjustment, but it is more similar to natural conception than one might think. The future mother carries and gives birth to the child, forming a strong emotional bond.
Couples who have successfully undergone IVF with donor eggs note that their babies resemble them in many ways, which leaves the whole family absolutely no room for doubt or uncertainty. The male partner's sperm provides a 50% genetic relation, and the child inherits their parents' mannerisms and speech, which make up a significant part for the remaining 50%.
Therefore, there is no need to worry about the lack of external or psychological resemblance. Fresh donor eggs provide you a real chance to finally become parents in a short amount of time, rather than spending effort on less effective treatment options that do not properly match your medical situation.
CAN I PLAN THE BIRTH
OF MULTIPLE CHILDREN?
Many families wish to have several children and may plan accordingly. Our clinic offers a guarantee of at least three embryos for every fresh donation program using 12 eggs, ensuring that the children in your family will be genetically related to each other.
If you want to increase the number of embryos and chances of expanding your family, you can also request that all donor eggs from one cycle be fertilized for you.
HOW DO I CHOOSE
A DONOR?
You can select a donor online based on physical characteristics such as height, hair and eye color, blood type, and Rh factor (which may be important if you want to keep the egg donation private from your child and avoid Rh-factor conflict)
Our clinic's database contains over 650 true profiles of donors, and we invite you to visit it.

SUCCESS STORY
OF
UK PATIENTS
The testimony belongs to a mother of a 6,5 month old newborn. Such a charming lady from France used to visit several IVF centres before becoming the patient of NGC Clinic, but eventually the facility became a last resort making her dreams to become a mother come true!
"We were a little unsure at the beginning as we didn't know the place, language, culture, or currency. We chose Next Generation Clinic because the clinic had good reviews and a high percentage of success rate on genuine websites.
It was good value as there is no price on a baby, however, we didn't have unlimited funds and it was one of the more affordable treatments in Europe. We had, had various medical treatments without any success in our country, so we decided our only option left was to have IVF with an egg donor. What was very important for us, was to be able to choose the donor by ourselves, on pictures, in a big European database.
In conclusion, we had an enjoyable stay in St Petersburg, during which we were able to visit the city, a warm welcome from the staff of the clinic, and the most important, the success with the pregnancy. So we highly recommend this clinic!"

We had various medical treatments without any success in our country, so we decided our only option left was to have IVF with an egg donor. To be able to choose the donor by ourselves, based on pictures, in a big European database was very important for us. The staff, receptionists, translators, medical professors were first-class. The clinic helped us to organize all that we required for the travel, which took the stress away and supported us for the time we spent there. The clinic was clean, well-organized, and modern. In conclusion, we had an enjoyable stay in St Petersburg, a warm welcome from the staff of the clinic, and the most important, the success with the pregnancy. So we highly recommend this clinic!
I'm writing this review with the most precious gift in my arms, my much longed for baby girl, who was born in March of this year, thanks to the wonderful treatment and care that I received from the team at NGC. For the first time during my years of treatments I felt that I was really being listened to and my concerns being addressed. No stone was left unturned! I found the clinic to be impressive and immaculate and so much more modern and advanced than previous clinics I had been treated at in the UK. I fell pregnant that first cycle and was over the moon. I will forever be so very grateful for the care and support received at NGC and I simply can't recommend them enough!
When we wanted a sibling for our daughter we turned to NGC in St.-Petersburg. Alex from NGC was very helpful in providing us with information, egg donors, pricing and logistics. He set us up with Dr Valentina Denisova who gave us an hour of her time and explained and advised us on the medical possibilities, requirements and procedures of the NGC via video conference. We welcomed our healthy, hungry, noisy son on our 1st try with NGC and recommend them highly. We are very impressed with and are extremely thankful to the NGC doctors, staff and coordinators, their new facilities, the customer care and coordination and of course our all success!
I couldn't recommend Next Generation Clinic more! The facilities are state-of-the-art and every member of staff has been polite and professional. The communication (in perfect English, as we unfortunately don't speak Russian) has always been prompt and reliable, thanks to fantastic Alex who has been helpful all along. Dr Valentina Denisova and the embryology team have done an excellent job. I got pregnant following the first embryo transfer, we are grateful!
Firstly I would like to thank Alex and Dr Valentina for the level of care and compassion shown to me throughout our IVF journey. The communication and response time was second to none. Replies within the hour! Dr Valentina was very reassuring when I become anxious or I had any sort of worries/concerns, she always put me at ease answering any questions I may of had. The clinic facilities are very state-of-the-art. Clean, modern just as you see in the pictures on their website. I am currently pregnant with my first frozen transfer. I will be eternally grateful to the team at Next Generation Clinic.
We are so thankful for everything. This is our 1st IVF, and we are glad it was successful. God bless you all!
We had directly a good feeling when talking to the international manager of NGC who was very helpful, reliable and fast to answer any question we would have. I gave birth in spring 2022 to a healthy baby. This pregnancy and birth happened thanks to NGC, and we are really grateful to them. We would certainly recommend NGC.
We travelled from Ireland to have our IVF treatment in 2022, and I am pleased to say that it was a fantastic experience. The team at NGC clinic provided exceptional care and attention. The doctors and staff were all incredibly knowledgeable and supportive throughout the entire process. I felt comfortable and informed at all times. The facilities and equipment at NGC clinic are top-notch, and I felt confident that I was in good hands. Most importantly, the IVF treatment was successful, and I am now expecting a healthy baby. I can't thank the team at NGC clinic enough for their expertise and care.
Best clinic ever, dreams come true here. If you want to achieve the result at your first attempt, this is where you should go. The doctors were absolutely amazing, Ksenia and Alexander were simply the best. Everyone is always willing to help and answer all your questions. The staff controls everything to make your journey smooth and productive.
I do highly recommend NGC. This is a place where miracles happen. Thanks to the whole team that helped me. I’m forever thankful.
"All in all, an exceptional experience."
After we had experiences with fertility clinics in three different countries in Europe (two of them in the EU), we chose Next Generation Clinic (NGC) in St. Petersburg, Russia. Our choice was initially based on the fact that they offer a large database of donors. Donors are often already genetically screened, and the process of getting the biological material is significantly easier than in other places.
We were really satisfied with the treatment, and support. The response time is very short and communication is easy, professional and to the point. Whenever we travelled to St. Petersburg, the clinic organized our transportation to and from the airport at their expense and helped us with the best money exchange place. The clinic offered great care and a personalized treatment plan that was well-rooted in the care of the patient in the first place. We are planning to go for a second child since we are currently pregnant with a girl and we are hoping for a boy as well.

FAQ
The total length of an egg donation program depends on several factors: The availability of your preferred donor; your partner’s schedule (he’ll have to visit us to deposit a sperm sample); specific treatment measures we should take to get you prepared for an embryo transfer (hysteroscopy, prolonged intake of HRT medicines etc.). We’ll help you figure it out!
Yes, absolutely. We at NGC don’t assign donors to patients; instead we welcome you to go through our online selection of donors, and make your own decision. You’ll have the access to detailed donor profiles with more than 70 characteristics included, as well as adult and child pictures.
The donor’s stimulation typically begins on Day 1–2 or 12–13 of her menstrual cycle. It lasts for 12–14 days, and results in an egg retrieval procedure. Fertilization of eggs and embryo culture process take 7 days to complete. After that, the blastocysts will get biopsied for the purpose of PGT-A (optional) and cryopreserved (each in its own straw). It takes up to 2.5-3 weeks to learn the results of embryo genetic screening. Embryo transfer preparation usually takes 3 weeks.
Your partner can arrive alone, pass medical tests and freeze his sperm in just 1 day. Your embryo transfer procedure is going to take approximately 3–4 days of stay. You’ll have a personal treatment plan from our doctor, and you’ll start following it after undergoing a pelvic scan at your home clinic.
Yes, we can synchronize your and your donor’s cycle using safe birth control pills. You and your partner will receive a treatment plan to follow, and be asked to arrive a few days ahead of the egg retrieval procedure. We’ll use a fresh sperm sample for fertilization. A Day 5 embryo will be transferred, and the rest of the blastocysts will be vitrified. Your visit for a synchronized donor egg IVF is estimated to take 8–10 days in total.
